Overview

KeyForge Labs ("we," "our," "us") builds practice tools for musicians. This privacy policy applies to all KeyForge applications, including KeyForge Piano and KeyForge Metronome, as well as the KeyForgeLabs.com website.

We do not sell, share, rent, or monetize your personal data. Period.

Data We Collect

Practice Data (Local)

When you use KeyForge apps, your practice session data — including scores, accuracy metrics, settings, and progress history — is stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable cloud sync.

Cloud Sync (Optional)

If you choose to create an account and enable cloud sync, your practice data is stored in a secure, encrypted database so it can be synchronized across your devices. This data is accessible only to you. We do not access, analyze, or share your practice data.

Account Information

If you create an account, we store your email address for authentication purposes. We do not use your email for marketing unless you explicitly opt in. We do not sell your email to third parties. Account creation is limited to users age 13 and older.

Website Analytics

The KeyForgeLabs.com website may use minimal, privacy-respecting analytics to understand general traffic patterns. We do not use invasive tracking, fingerprinting, or advertising pixels. We do not build behavioral profiles.

Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect:

• — Audio recordings from your microphone (pitch detection is processed on-device)
• — MIDI input data beyond what is needed for real-time practice feedback
• — Location data
• — Contact lists or address books
• — Device identifiers for advertising purposes
• — Behavioral data for targeting or profiling

Third-Party Services

KeyForge apps use Supabase for optional cloud authentication and data sync. Supabase's privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy. No other third-party services receive your data.

Data Retention

Local data is stored on your device for as long as the app is installed. Cloud-synced data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting keyforge@keyforgelabs.com.

Children's Privacy

KeyForge apps are not directed to children under 13, and accounts/cloud sync are available only to users age 13 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Parents/guardians may create and manage an account using their own email address on behalf of a child. In that case, the parent/guardian is the account holder and controls the account and associated data.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to us (for example, by creating an account with their own email address), please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy as our products evolve. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We will not reduce your privacy protections without clear notice.
